The day started at 7 am, when a little boy came tiptoeing into my room and up onto my bed and said "Is it morning yet? Did Santa Claus get here yet?" I went downstairs to check and sure enough, Santa had visited. Boy did he visit! The boy got many presents from Santa and from Mommy and Daddy.
:: I've been sick this week, so I haven't posted much about the preparations. The tree is an object of endless fascination, particularly our spaceship / astronaut ornaments. Being good geeks, our ornaments are primarily robots / science fiction / NASA themed. We can cover a 7 foot tree with JUST that kind of ornament, and every year we get more. This year's new ornaments include Captain Kirk being covered by Tribbles, a NASA 50 year commemorative ornament with Snoopy, and Godzilla. The boy LOVES the ornaments that make sounds and light up, and so a rocket is started on its countdown sequence, men land on the moon, and Captain Kirk beams up every time he goes by. We have some variations on the theme this year, with Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, some Disney characters, a bulldozer, a fire truck, and a Wild Thing making their appearance. ::
After the gift extravaganza at our house we headed over to Grandmom and PopPops for more. If the economy doesn't fail this year, its because of all the toys given to my son and my nephews. :)
My brother made a sword, a shield, and a morning star out of wrapping paper tubes, paper plates, string and spare christmas paper for my son, who thought it was the best thing ever.
The Young Master fell asleep in the car coming home from Grandmom and PopPop's house and slept, with one interruption, until 8 the next morning.
