Just a note: the boy is of the opinion that liquid amoxicillin is extremely nasty. To get around the taste, we are giving him chocolate ice cream -- his tongue gets coated with ice cream, then he drinks the medicine real fast, then eats a little more ice cream.
I told him the amoxicillin is full of soldiers, warriors who are going in to defeat the bad germs in his body that are making him sick. The warriors throw the defeated germs into his blood, which carries the germs to his kidneys, where he makes pee and pees the bad guys right down the toilet. He was very fond of that idea.
