Bruticus

Aw heck, why not...

Yesterday, DS a.k.a. "Bruticus" started to play peekaboo on his own. He pulled a cloth partway over his face, but not over his eyes, then pulled it down quickly. It was brain-cell-melting cute!

We tried to take him into my aunt's swimming pool, but he fell asleep before preparations for the 1st attempt could be completed -- silly mommy learned the hard way that swim diapers only retain SOLIDS, not liquids, and silly mommy had not packed a change of clothing for herself beyond a swim suit and a clean tee shirt, so silly mommy had to change Bruticus AND herself AND rinse out her soggy capris AND hang them over a fence to dry in the sun. Baby was tired and wanting to nap by the time all that was done. The 2nd attempt was a less than resounding success; he told us quite emphatically that the water was TOO COLD, and he wanted nothing to do with it Thank You Very Much. The sad sad part is that a lot of effort went into getting him a swim suit that would fit correctly and provide adequate UV protection, a life jacket because Mommy is paranoid, sunscreen, etc, all for three toes dipped into the water.

Still, he got to baby wrestle his 4 week younger cousin "T-Bill", and that was quite amusing.

Today he got one step closer to sitting up on his own -- he's propping himself up on his elbows.

The solid food(s) of the day: banana, sweet potato
