Saturday in Annapolis

Took the kid to the doctor today, because he has had a cold for a week now and doesn't seem to be getting any better. They are of the opinion that his cold is purely viral. The good news is that he doesn't need antibiotics. The bad news is that there's not really anything they can do for it. It just needs to run its course. He was extremely well behaved in the waiting area and in the exam room, with only a few minor tears. He even stood on the big boy scale all by himself, and now weighs about 34 lbs wearing pants, 3 shirts, socks, and his blue hat. (and his diaper.)

Sentence of the day (heard over the monitor from his bedroom when he first woke up this morning): "I stuck! I stuck! Get knife!"

We went to the Annapolis mall after the doctor's visit and **WE FOUND A PARKING SPOT!!!** Then we ate at Sbarro's in the mall and walked around a lot. We looked at Santa Claus, but the 23 month old wasn't in the right frame of mind to sit on a strange bearded man's lap, so we skipped that part. I think Santa is probably grateful that he didn't have to deal with another crying child, and is doubly grateful that we didn't put a sick kid on his lap either. Jr really liked looking at all the decorated trees in the mall.

In other excitement, Breyer's ice cream is on sale at Giant at a bargain price: 2 cartons for $5. This made my babydaddy very happy. Eggos french toast sticks are 2 boxes for $4, ensuring Jr will have his favorite breakfast for another 3 weeks (all we have room for in the freezer.) I wish the basement fridge was able to get cold down there. Apparently the basement is too cold for the appliance to work correctly. Even in summer. Boo.
