The weather here has been unseasonably warm, close to 70 degrees Fahrenheit for two days straight. Yesterday, when we got home from interviewing a daycare provider*, we spotted our neighbor C who is just a few months older than A. C was in his front yard playing with his daddy. A wanted to visit, so we walked across the street.
C has a ride/push car. While the boys were playing, C pushed it really fast and it fell over on its side. He fell over on his side to add to the drama (he was not at all injured, not even close to it.) A ran over and kneeled down by C. "OK?" he asked, checking on C. Then he said "I fix it!" and righted the overturned car. C thought this was cool, so he took off with the car, ran back and ... did the same thing. A went over. "OK?" "I fix it!". The two of them must have done this about 10 times in a row. It was very funny.
*Daycare search. Regular daycare provider is going out for 8 weeks for surgery/recovery, so we need to find someone else. Fortunately it gets a whole lot easier when kids hit the age of 2, unless you want to get in the daycare facility where PirateNinjaDaddy works. We have been on that list since I was 12 weeks pregnant, and right now are #8 for admittance to the 2 year old group. A two year old classroom is 6 kids, so that means an entire class has to move on or drop off the list... disappointed! Anyhow, we've interviewed two different ladies in the past two days. They both seem pretty nice, and A seemed happy in both playroom areas, and took to today's lady a little faster than yesterday's. There was a little girl at yesterday's place that was absolutely *fascinated* by A. She's only a few months older than him, but you would have thought that he was a brand new dollbaby put there especially for her by the way she reacted to him. She kept smiling and touching his hair and fingers. He kept trying to run away so he could play with trucks.

WOW Kathy your day care situation sucks . Maggie has been really lucky in that regard. The last situation with his special friend sounds nice , doesnt it. Matt had a friend in k who always said matt was her teddy bear, must be something about the hair.
